Two men in Missouri have had an especially unwelcome visit from a large wolf spider, whose abdomen was covered in a writhing mass of tiny spiderlings.

While the mother arachnid may have been looking for a safe place to raise her wriggling brood, her presence was met with horror by panicked onlookers.

America’s first cat café opened its doors Saturday in Oakland.
At the Cat Town Café, people can buy a latte and an hour of playtime with adoptable felines.

The owners hope this new business will help find homes for East Bay cats.
Internationally, cat cafés are popular in urban areas. This new venture in Oakland was the first to master the logistics and health code approvals in the U.S.

Eleven Members of Brazilian Family Seriously Ill After Unintentionally Eating World's Most Venomous Fish for Dinner


Eleven members of the same Brazilian family are in a critical condition in hospital after unwittingly cooking up the world's deadliest fish for their supper, it was reported today.

The pufferfish was caught by members of the Souza family while fishing near Duque de Caxias and contained a toxin 1,200 times more lethal than cyanide - a drop of which can kill within 24 hours.

The poison paralyses the muscles while the victim remains fully conscious, eventually dying of asphyxiation when the venom reaches the diaphragm.

Gorilla Scares Children at Zoo With Routine


A gorilla at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, likes to give his onlookers a thrill. As seen on this video, he waits motionless then lurches toward the viewing enclosure and gives it a bang. Shrieks -- and cheers -- ensue.

According to the person who filmed this, it’s a part of his regular routine. “The cool part is that he waits for someone to enter the barrier and a crowd before doing this routine,” he told Storyful.
