A Russian Taxidermist Has Created an Exhibition Showing Animals Having Sex: He is Accused of Being a Pervert by Activists

A Russian taxidermist has created an exhibition showing the animals that he stuffed having sex.

The artworks by Pavel Glaskov are going on display in Vladimir Putin's hometown of St Petersburg later next month.

But while the idea got good reviews in local media, animal rights activists were less than impressed and are accusing the man of being a pervert.

Svetlana Los, one of those who is calling for the exhibition to be scrapped, said, “This exhibition is a just a perversion. How else can you describe it? Why do we need to see the sex lives of animals in this way? It is bad enough seeing this stuff on the Internet but using dead animals is just sick.”

Svetlana Los said that the taxidermist had killed the animals himself before skinning them and stuffing them and arranging them in poses having sex with each other.

But Pavel Glazkov - the author of exhibition - has rejected that, saying, “I am not killing animals; I love animals. I got the animal skins from hunters. They took the meat and supplied me with the skins. Nobody kills these animals for their skin. I want to draw some attention to Russian nature and the animal world though an exhibition showing an intimate part of their lives.”

Glazkov is a biologist and lecturer, and first had the idea to arrange animals having sex in taxidermy 10 years ago, but only made his first pair 18 months ago. Since then, he has another 20 models and is planning, if the exhibition is a success, to make a museum of his work.

He added, “I don't know how anyone can object to my work, I'm showing real nature. Spring will be here pretty soon and everything in the natural world will be at it again having sex outside. Does anybody feel outraged if they see a dog or cat or a pigeon doing it in the street?”

Russian taxidermist Pavel Glaszkov has created an exhibition featuring dead animals having sex.

Glazkov has even coupled a pair of warthogs together as part of his bizarre and disturbing display.

Animal rights activists are outraged by the shocking display featuring dead creatures such as raccoons.

Glazkov has been planning sex in taxidermy for a decade, but he only created the first couple 18 months ago.

When not stuffing dead animals, Glazkov, pictured with his creations, is also a biologist as well as a lecturer.

Glazkov, pictured, denied he killed the animals himself before skinning them and creating his bizarre creations.

Glazkov, pictured, said he received the skins from hunters who killed the animals for their meat.

Glazkov said he cannot understand why anyone would object to his work as he insists the animals are 'natural'.
