Lisa LaFontaine, CEO, Washington Humane Society, Rushes to the Aid of a Mother and Child After They Were Hit by a Car

The Washington Humane Society isn't just there for the animals! This afternoon, WHS President and CEO Lisa LaFontaine was returning to the office from a meeting when she witnessed a woman walking a small child get struck by a car!

She immediately pulled over and rushed to her side. The child was unharmed but his mother had suffered serious injuries to her head and face was unable to talk. Lisa sat there doing everything she could and held her until help arrived.

The condition of the woman is unknown to us now, but when Lisa returned to the office, she cleaned the blood off her arms and started making calls to
see if she could find out where they had taken her and if she was going to be okay.

True compassion doesn't stop at those you have dedicated your life to helping, it extends
to all life. Lisa proved again today that she is truly a compassionate person.
